Matte it out

Hi everyone!

While I am a total shimmer addict, I do like to mix it up every once in a while and swipe on some matte shades. Matt shades can look more mature, and they can tone down a shimmer-overload. I'm not a huge fan of the shimmer-from-lashes-to-brows look, so I like to break up my shimmer with a matte shade in my crease. Here are some of my favorites that I've been reaching for recently. I may even bust these out over my other eye shadows for the holidays (horror, I know)!

Starting from left and working clockwise: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe, MAC Sorcery, MAC Moleskin, Urban Decay Shakedown.

I think out of the bunch, I love the Urban Decay shade and Moleskin the best. These are super easy to combine with shimmer, while the Sorcery and Tough as Taupe look great on their own. All of these shades are super creamy and blend with a flick of a brush, or a finger in the case of the Tough as Taupe!

So that's my two cents on mattes: I can't get enough of them! I don't think I'll ever totally convert from my beloved shimmer, but these are great options to add to the mix.
